Music: ACL Hall of Fame, Justin Bieber, Liam Payne, Bad Religion ...

It's been six years since the acclaimed "Austin City Limits" live music program on PBS established its own Hall of Fame. It celebrates this weekend with "ACL Hall of Fame: The First 6 Years," premiering Saturday, Jan. 2 (11 p.m. on WTVS-Channel 56), with streaming beginning at 10 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, via pbs.org/austincitylimits.

The show features moments from the previous induction ceremonies, including team-ups featuring: Willie Nelson, Emmylou Harris and Lyle Lovett; Rosanne Cash with Elvis Costello and Neko Case; Buddy Guy with Jimmie Vaughan; and many more, as well as an all-star finale featuring Nelson, Guy, Johnny Lang, Lukas Nelson, Robert Randolph and more.

"Austin City Limits" has several other special salutes slated for its 46th season, including the Foo Fighters on Jan. 9, Spoon on Jan. 30, Jerry Jeff Walker and Billy Joe Shaver on Feb. 6, and Allen Toussaint on Feb. 13.

The Metropolitan Opera Theatre starts the year by wrapping up its (Luciano) Pavarotti Week with a 1988 performance of Verdi's "Il Trovatore" on Friday, Jan. 1, Verdi's "Un Ballo in Maschera" from 1991 on Saturday, Jan. 2, and Donizett's "L'Elisir d'Amore," also featuring Kathleen Battle, on Sunday, Jan. 3.
