New Year's Eve will be different this year, but you can still support some of the metro area music venues that have largely been closed since March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The "Virtual Video Atomic Fez Fundraiser For Detroit!" starts at 8:15 p.m. Dec. 31 on YouTube and other social media platforms, featuring performance clips from the Electric 6, Audra Kubat, Cinecyde, Carolyn Striho and Scott Daily, Ricky Rat, the Romantics' Mike Skill, Don "Doop" Durpie, Tino G's Dumpster Machine and more. A GoFundMe page for the fundraiser which benefits the Magic Bag and New Way Bar in Ferndale, Small's Bar in Hamtramck and Detroit mainstays such as PJ's Lager House, the Old Miami, the UFO Factory and others is up.
