* The Go and the Hentchmen are among several local groups playing Saturday's (Oct. 20) Jam For Sudan, a benefit at Detroit's Majestic Theatre to raise funds to aid in the humanitarian crisis in Darfur. Organized by the MIchigan Darfur Coalition, proceeds from the show will go to organizations assisting the 2.5 million people who are living in displacement camps as a result of genocidal civil war. Saturday's bill also includes the Muldoons, Zoos of Berlin, the Sisters Lucas, the Beggars and Sweet Japonic. * The monthly B'Jazz Vespers series continues Sunday (Oct. 21) with the Paul VornHagen Jazz Quartet, featuring guest vocalist Judi Cochill. Overloaded, which won a WRIF-FM contest in June to open for Godsmack, will play songs from its new "Regeneration" Friday (Oct. 19), topping a bill that includes Slave to the Beautiful, Primortal and Goiter Jelly.
