Breaking stories from the metro area music scene...

The Detroit Jazz Festival has revealed that viewers from 31 countries tuned into this year's event, which was held during Labor Day Weekend without an audience and via virtual and broadcast outlets. Current estimates for total viewership are more than 600,000 over the course of the four days.

Local rapper YoungKing YougScoop is the winner of the Detroit Budweiser Music Battle, besting 31 other finalists during the three-week competion. He'll receive $15,000 to be used for studio and video recording as well as a Meet & Greet with chart-topping fellow Detroit MC Big Sean.
