Celebrities both local and national will join forces next week to help feed the needy in Detroit.
"Feeding Detroit: A Motor City Meal-A-Thon" benefitting Forgotten Harvest premiere at 7 p.m. June 20 on Southfield-based CBS 62 and CW50, streaming live on CBSdetroit.com and CW50detroit.com. Hosted by Lisa Germani, the special features appearances by Jay Leno, Lily Tomlin, Kristin Bell, Tony Hawk, Beth Griffith-Manley, Mitch Albom, Judge Greg Mathus, Phil Elam, athletes Matthew Stafford, Kris Draper and Darren McCarty and more.
The show will repeat at 8 p.m. on July 4.
PNC Bank and an anonymous local family have aggreed to match up to $200,000 in contributions. Donations can be made starting now at forgottenharvest.org or by texting FEED20 to 91999.
An online auction will also be running from noon on June 29 to noon on July 5 to raise additional funds.
