Detroit's annual Concert of Colors will run this year -- at a different time, however, and in a different manner.

The 28th annual edition of the free multi-cultural festival will be held Oct. 7-10 at the Detroit Film Theatre in the Detroit Institute of Arts, without a live audience. The venue will be used as a soundstage for performances, which will be aired on Detroit Public Television (Channel 56) and WDET-FM (101.9).

Broadcasts will take place at 7 p.m. Oct. 7 and 9 p.m. the other three nights.

The only performance announced so far is the annual Don Was All-Star Revue, which will play tribute to Ed Love, Detroit's venerable jazz radio DJ. Other performers are expected to be announced soon.
