Rock veteran Mark Farner starts Midland flood relief fund

Grand Funk Railroad co-founder Mark Farner is throwing his music weight into relief for flood victims in Midland County.

Farmer, who was born in nearby Flint and is a veteran of Terry Knight & the Pack and the Bossman as wella s Grand Funk, has established the Mid-Michigan Flood Relief through GoFundMe with is wife, Leisa, with a goal of raising $25,000 for the American Red Cross. The Farners, who reside in Petoskey,. started the fund with a $2,000 donation and are now soliciting fan contributions.

Farner has been touring with his own Mark Farner's American Band since leaving Grand Funk in 1998. He was also a member of Ringo Starr's All-Starr Band during 1994-95.
