The beat goes on even in quarantine, with three major music festivals going online this weekend.
Detroit's Movement Music Festival, which moved from Memorial Day Weekend to Sept. 11-13 at Hart Plaza, presents Movement at Home, 2 p.m. Saturday to Monday, May 23-25, on the festival's website, movement.us, Facebook page and YouTube channel, as well as the Paxahau and Beatport Twitch channels (Beatport on Sunday and Monday only). Performers include Kevin Saunderson and Dantiez, Carl Craig, Matthew Dear, Seth Troxler, Wajeed, Claude VonStroke, DJ Godfather, Ataxia and others, with virtual afterparties TBA.
The Chainsmokers, meanwhile, will host the Virtual DisDance Festival from Friday through Sunday, May 22-24, on SiriusXM's BPM channel, with performances by Marshmello, Deadmau5, Calvin Harris' Love Regenerator project, Steve Aoki, Armin van Buren and a 2011 set from the late Avicii at 5 p.m. Saturday.
Both events will solicit contributions to MusiCares' COVID-19 Relief Fund.
The Governor's Ball Music Festival, meanwhile, presents "The Sun Still Sets" with DJ Snoopadelic (aka Snoop Dogg), Rufus Du Sol, Bob Moses and Sofi Tukker at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, May 24, via @govballnyc on YopuTube and Facebook.
