Michigan Opera Theatre cancels rest of current season

he fat lady has sung for the Michigan Opera Theatre's season.

The company has canceled the remaining five shows of its current season at the Detroit Opera House in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

The decision affects of: "Champion," March 28-April 5; the Easter Jazz Spectacular, April 11; the American Ballet Theatre's "Swan Lake," April 16-19; "The Very Last Green Thing" by the MOT's Children's Chorus, April 25; and "Pagliacci," May 9-17.

Ticketholders have the option of a full refund, exchanging their tickets for a future MOT performance or donating them to the MOT. More details and updates are available at MichiganOpera.org.

The MOT is currently planning for its 50th anniversary season, which is slated to open during October with a lineup announcement expected soon.
