Eminem's manager Paul Rosenberg is stepping down after two years as Chairman and CEO of Def Jam Recordings in order to refocus on his management first, Goliath Artists, and the Shady Records label he started with Eminem. During his tenure at Def Jam Rosenberg, a Michigan State University and University of Detroit-Mercy Law School alumnus, guided hit projects for Kanye West, Logic, YG, Pusha T, Jhene Aiko and others, and most recently Justin Bieber's "Changes" album. No replacement at Def Jam has been named yet.

Eminem's 2013 single "Rap God," meanwhile, has notched a billion views on YouTube. It's the Detroit rapper's third billion-view video, joining "Not Afraid" and "Love the Way You Lie."

To celebrate the the 40th anniversary of his "Against the Wind" album (Feb. 25), Bob Seger has released a new lyric video for the title track on his official YouTube channel. The album spent six weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and won two Grammy Awards, Best Rock Performance By a Duo or Group and Best Recording Package.

Detroit's Assemble Sound has announced its 2020 panel of Artists in residents, a list that includes Jay Cribbs, Gabriel Duran, Hala, Kynzi, Mayaeni, Primer, Curtis Roach, Supercoolwicked, Thibault Ruellan, Tiny Jag, Michael Tocco, Uribi, Mark Whalen and whiterosemoxie. In addition to their own work the artists will paticipate in Assemble programs such as workshops, panel discussions and showcases.

Battle Creek-born country singer Frankie Ballard and his wife Christina welcomed their first child, daughter Pepper Lynn Ballard, on Feb. 20.
