An injury to frontman Jeff Gutt has caused Stone Temple Pilots to cancel its planned acoustic tour -- including a Feb. 21 stop at the Fillmore Detroit.

According to a press release, Gutt -- who a Marine City native joined STP in 2017, suffered "a severely herniated disc" that requires immediate surgery, along with several weeks of recovery time and physical therapy." He is, however, "expected to make a full recovery," and STP hopes to reschedule the acoustic dates later this year. Refunds for the shows are available at the point of purchase.

The group's new acoustic album, "Perdida" -- its second since Gutt joined the band -- is due out Feb. 7.

STP will also be touring with Nickelback this summer, including a July 2 stop at the DTE Energy Music Theatre.
