Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band's "Against the Wind" will sail again in November -- with some extras.
The Michigan rock icon's Grammy Award-winning 1980 album will be re-released Nov. 22 on vinyl to commemorate its upcoming 40th anniversary. The set will be available in a standard black vinyl with full restored original artwork, as well as a limited edition version in translucent blue vinyl and including a bonus 7-inch single featuring two rare Seger recordings -- the studio version of "Lookin' Back, for the first time since it was originally released and 1970's "Lucifer."
Pre-orders are being taken at https://bobseger.lnk.to/AgainstTheWindAlbum.
Released Feb. 25, 1980, "Against the Wind" was Seger's only No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 and was certified five-times platinum. It launched three Top 20 singles -- "Fire Lake," "You'll Accomp'ny Me" and the title track -- and features concert staples such as "Her Strut," "The Horizontal Bop" and "Betty Lou's Gettin' Out Tonight."
"Against the Wind" also won Seger's only Grammy Award, for Best Rock Performance By a Duo or Group with Vocal, while Roy Kohara won Best Recording Package for the set.
Seger and company are the midst of the final North American leg of his farewell tour, which wraps up Nov. 1 in Philadelphia.
