Bob Seger has added what's billed as four "final North American shows" to his farewell tour.
With the fall leg of the trek starting Sept. 12 in Rapid City, S.D., Seger and his Silver Bullet Band will wrap things up with concerts in longtime stronghold Boston on Oct. 24 as well as Toronto (Oct. 25), New York (Oct. 30) and Philadelphia (Nov. 1). All go on sale Sept. 14, with a pre-sale for Seger's Bullet Club on Sept. 10. More details at bobseger.com.
The tour kicked off last November and included six sold-out dates at the DTE Energy Music Theatre in June.
The announcement refers to the fall dates as "the final leg of the tour," though there's been speculation about more shows during 2020. Specifying North America also indicates that the Oakland County-based rocker may be considering some overseas dates for the first time since 1980; He's been courted heavily by promoters in Europe and Australia.
Seger's latest album, "I Knew You When," which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Current Rock Albums chart and No. 25 on the Billboard 200 after its release last Nov. 17. The album was dedicated to Seger's late friend, Glenn Frey of the Eagles, who passed away during January of 2016.
