Mike Posner will be hitting the road again this week -- on foot.

After putting his walk across the United States on hold following an Aug. 8 rattlesnake bite in Colorado, Posner has announced online that he'll be resuming the trek on Wednesday, Aug. 28.

"This walk continues tomorrow," the Southfield-raised Birmingham Groves High School graduate wrote in a posting on Twitter, "after having a minor setback due to the rattle snake, it's time to pack up my bags, tie my shoes, revive my spirit and head back to the open road. So many amazing states, & cities I have crossed but i can't wait to cross so many more state lines!"

Posner began the 2,833-mile walk from New Jersey to California on April 15 and has been documenting it extensively via social media; He'd completed 1.797 miles before the enforced break. His home town stop on May 29 included a solo acoustic performance at the City Theatre inside Detroit's Hockeytown cafe.

During the course of the walk Posner has released a new song, "Prince Akeem" featuring rapper Wiz Khalifa. He plans to wrap up the walk in Venice Beach, though no end date has been determined yet.
