Detour, the new Detroit-based online magazine, will celebrate its launch — a bit belatedly — with a three-day music festival next week.
The show includes three nights of music, Thursday (Sept. 20) through Sept. 22, at the Magic Stick as well as a Sept. 21 barbecue and concert at the Contemporary Art Institute of Detroit. Brazil’s Bonde Do Role and the Noisettes from London bring an international flavor to the affair, but most of the 29 acts hail from the Detroit area, including favorites such as the Go, SSM, Lee Marvin Computer Arm, the Hard Lessons and Johnny Headband, plus reunions of Bulldog and Ko & the Knockouts on Sept. 22 at the Magic Stick. Handmade Detroit will also be selling clothing and crafts at the Magic Stick shows.
Wristbands are $20 for all three days or $15 for a single-show admission. The Magic Stick is at 4120 Woodward, Detroit, while CAID is at 5141 Rosa Parks Blvd., Detroit.
