Mike Posner's walk across the country will reach his home town in two weeks.

And he'll celebrate with a concert.

The Southfield native and Birmingham Groves High School grad has scheduled a solo acoustic performance for 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, at the City Theatre inside the HockeyTown restaurant in Detroit. Tickets, starting at $30, are on sale now.

Posner, 31, released his third studio album, "A Real Good Kid," in January and commenced his 2,942-mile walk on April 15. He's been posting regular updates via social media.

Before seting out he said that, the allure of the walk "is its difficulty, its magnitude -- and the inevitability of self-growth through the project. I don't feel like I'm walking to show people who I am. I'm walking to find out who I'll become."
