After a home town return performance during halftime of the Detroit Lions' Thanksgiving Day game last week, Mike Posner is ready to roll out his third studio album.
The Grammy Award-nominated Birmingham Groves High School grad has announced a Jan. 18 release for "A Real Good Kid," which is currently available for pre-orders. Posner has already released a first single, "Song About You," from the 11-song set, which he recently performed on CBS's "The Late Late Show with James Corden."
"A Real Good Kid" is Posner's first album of music since 2016's "At Night, Alone." It follows the January release of his spoken-word live album "I was born in detroit on a very, very, very, very, very, very, very cold day," as well as a poetry book, "Tear Drops and Balloons." Last year Posner also released the first album by Mansionz, his collaboration with blackbear.
Earlier this year Posner said that, "I've got a lot of great songs and I'm working on getting the recordings as good as I think the songs are, 'cause those things last forever." The opening track, "January 11th, 2017," refers to the day his father, prominent local attorney John Posner, passed away.
Details about the new album and tour plans will be updated at mikeposner.com. The full tracklist includes:
