Thanksgiving isn't here yet. But GRiZmas is upon us.
The 13-day celebration hosted by the Southfield-raised electronic musician, real name Grant Kwiecisnki, kicks off with a pop-up shop opening on Dec. 4 at Deluxx Flux 1274 Library St. in Detroit. The fifth annual GRiZmas also includes caroling in Cadillac Square, community service and charity projects, a morning yoga session in the Fisher Building Lobby, a bowling party at the Garden Bowl, a Future Roller Disco and more.
The culmination will be GRiZ's two concerts at the Masonic Temple -- with a 15-piece live band on Dec. 14 and a DJ set on Dec. 15. A full list of GRiZmas events and other details can be found at 12daysofgrizmas.com.
Previous GRiZmases have raised more than $80,000 for Detroit public school music programs, which will continue to be the beneficiary this year, through various charities.
