GRiZ is planning to be home for the holidays once again.
The Southfield-raised electronic musician (real name) Grant Kwiecinski, will play a pair of shows in Detroit during December at the Masonic Temple; His Dec. 14 show will feature GRiZ's full live band, while the following night will be a "traditional" DJ-style performance.
Tickets go on sale at noon Friday, Sept. 14, with a special pre-sale running from noon Tuesday, Sept. 11, through 10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13. Details can be found at mynameisgriz.com.
GRiZ is subsequently expected to announce details for a fifth annual 12 Days of GRiZMAS event, which has raised more than $80,000 for Detroit public school music programs via Little Kids Rock. Previous years have featured yoga, pub crawls, bowling nights, caroling, panel discussions and more.
GRiZ, who now resides mostly in Denver, has released five studio albums as well as EPs and an assortment of collaborations. He received a Spirit of Detroit award for his 12 Days of GRiZMAS in 2015.
