Bob Seger has revealed a bit more of his new album as its Friday, Nov. 17, release date nears.

The Oakland County-based rocker has posted a teaser video on his Facebook page featuring a variety of images and snippets of five songs -- the title track “I Knew You When,” “Blue Ridge,” “Gracie” and covers of Lou Reed’s “Busload of Faith” (the album’s first single) and Leonard Cohen’s “Democracy.” additionally, Seger released a statement saying that “his recovery from surgery last month is progressing very well” and that the rescheduled dates for his interrupted Runaway Train Tour “are being mapped for a coast to coast reboot of the tour this spring,” with “more details in the coming weeks.”

Seger’s surgery took place Oct. 20 and, according to a statement, “couldn’t have gone better.”

Seger had played 13 shows, including concerts at the DTE Energy Music Theatre and the closing night of the Palace of Auburn Hills, before coming off the road to deal with an issue with his vertebrae.

The “I Knew You When” album is dedicated to Seger’s good friend Glenn Frey, a Royal Oak native and co-founder of Eagles who died during January of 2016. The deluxe edition of the album includes “Glenn Song,” which Seger recorded for Frey on the first anniversary of his death.

The album, Seger’s 18th overall, will be available at all streaming services, while Tidal and Pandora will also be streaming 13 of Seger’s catalog albums for the first time.

Seger’s official web site, bobseger.com, is offering special merchandise bundles to coincide with the album’s release.
