In the wake of his six-show run opening Detroit's new Little Caesars Arena, Kid Rock is taking his Greatest Show On Earth on the road next year -- and putting out a new album to go with it.
Rock, resides and works part-time in Clarkston, has announced a Nov. 3 release date for "Sweet Southern Sugar," his first new album since "First Kiss" in 2015. Rock has already released "Greatest Show On Earth," "Tennessee Mountain Top" "Po-Dunk" from the set; The other seven songs include "I Wonder," "American Rock N' Roll," "Back To The Otherside," "Raining Whiskey," "Stand The Pain," "Sugar Pie Honey Bunch" and "Grandpa's Jam."
The announcement says that the album "ranges from country to classic rock, with a little rap sprinkled in between and highlights Kid Rock's armory of talent, which transcends a single genre."
The Greatest Show On Earth Tour," meanwhile, kicks off Jan. 19 in Nashville and has shows scheduled through March 24 in Las Vegas, though none yet in Michigan. Tickets go on sale Nov. 3, with a pre-sale for fan club members starting Oct. 31 and for those who pre-order the new album on Nov. 1.
Rock has been silent about his teased campaign for Michigan's U.S. Senate seat next year since his shows at Little Caesars in September.
