Eminem is planning to release his ninth studio album later thisy ear, according to the music industry trade magazine HITS Daily Double. This follows the Detroit-area rapper’s “Don’t worry I’m working on an album!” social media post to fans as he released the one-off anti-Trump track “Campaign Speech.”
Other recent reports of Eminem activity have come from fellow rapper Chainz as well as Allen Hughes, who directed the HBO documentary “The Defiant Ones” about Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine who said Dre was working on a last-minute track for the Eminem album.
The set has not been officially announced by Eminem’s camp or his record label. It will be his first new album since “The Marshall Mathers LP 2” in 2013.
The album will be Eminem’s first since his manager Paul Rosenberg, who was raised in Oakland County, was named the new CEO/President of Def Jam Recordings, effective in 2018.
