Those disappointed U2’s Joshua Tree Tour 2017 didn’t include a metro Detroit stop can get happy.

The Irish group, celebrating the 30th anniversary of its landmark album by playing it in its entirety, will perform Sept. 3 at Detroit’s Ford Field, kicking off the second North American leg of the tour, which is on the road right now. Tickets go on sale June 12. Details can be found at U2.com and livenation.com.

US last performed in the area on Oct. 24-25, 2005 at the Palace of Auburn Hills, and it hasn’t played Detroit proper since March 23, 1985 at Joe Lois Arena. It last performed in Michigan with its 360 Tour on June 26, 2011 at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing.

The Ford Field show is one of seven U.S. dates taking place in September, with five South American shows to follow.

Other new show announcements include:

• Steve Earle, Sept. 27 at the Fillmore Detroit. Tickets, $25-$65, on sale Friday, June 9. Visit thefillmoredetroit.com.

• Monty Python’s John Cleese, Sept. 28 at the Fillmore Detroit. Tickets, $66-$251, go on sale Friday, June 9. Visit thefillmoredetroit.com.

• Tom Segura, Oct. 12 at the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor. tickets, $25-$50, on sale Friday, June 9. Visit michtheater.org.

• The Shins, Nov. 7 at the Fillmore Detroit. Tickets, $36.50-$60, go on sale Friday, June 9. Visit thefillmoredetroit.com.
