With the publication of his first poetry book looming, Mike Posner has announced a home town concert for the spring.
The Southfield native and Birmingham Groves High School graduate -- whose 2016 single “I Took A Pill In Ibiza” is nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Song on Sunday, Feb. 12 -- will close his 13-date spring tour with a show on May 2 at Detroit`s St. Andrew’s Hall. Tickets go on sale Friday, Feb. 10, via saintandrewsdetroit.com, LiveNation.com and mikeposner.com.
The show follows the March 17 release of Posner`s “Tear Drops And Balloons” poetry book -- which, according to the announcement, is “ deeply authentic and astonishingly personal...cuts to the bone, speaks from the gut and offers (Posner’s) perspective on the world. By holding nothing back and showing no mercy in his words, he has created a body of work that showcases his ability to open up his own wounds and shows what lines within.”
Posner is still supporting his 2016 album “At Night, Alone.” He’s also working on a new musical project called mansionz with fellow writer-producer blackbear.
