It's been more than nine months since Bruce Springsteen last played the metro area. But a little E Street Band fix is coming in April.
Garry Tallent, the bassist and longest-tenured member in Springsteen's group and former Detroiter, will bring his own band to town to support his first-ever album, "Break Time," on April 25 at the Magic Bag in Ferndale. Tickets are $20 and on sale now.
Tallent and his family lived in Detroit when he was young, moving to Tennessee when he was seven years old. The family later went to New Jersey, where Tallent met Springsteen and began playing wtih him during 1971. The bassist has produced artists such as Marshall Crenshaw, Jim Lauderdale and Steve Forbert, and he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the E Street Band in 2014.
