Patti Smith is coming "home" -- albeit after the holidays.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer -- who resided in St. Clair Shores after marrying the MC5's Fred Smith in 1980, until his death in 1994 --will perform March 11 at the Royal Oak Music Theatre. Tickets go on sale at noon Friday, Dec. 30, while a presale is going on until midnight Thursday, Dec. 29 at royaloakmusictheatre.com (Password is romtlive).

Smith's children Jackson and Jesse live and work as musicians in the metro area. Her last album, "Banga," came out in 2012, and her second memoir "M Train" published during 2015 and won a Grammy Award for the audio version of the book, which Smith narrated.
