Some three decades after pioneering techno music in Michigan, the Belleville Three -- Kevin Saunderson, Juan Atkins and Derrick May -- will reunite next May for a performance at the Movement electronic music festival in downtown Detroit.
All three, who began making recordings while attending Belleville High School during the mid-80s, have performed in various configurations at the festival during its 16 years. May and Saunderson both had tenures running the Labor Day Weekend event during the early and mid-2000s before current producer Paxahau took over in 2006.
This year’s Movement takes place May 29-29 at Detroit’s Hart Plaza and will also feature Carl Craig, Audion, Danny Brown, Barclay Crenshaw, Adam Beyer, Death In Vegas Soul Clap and many more. Three-day passes and VIP packages, are curerntly on sale at movement.us.
