After feeding the appetites of music fans by opening a year ago Thanksgiving weekend in Detroit's Cass Corridor, Third Man Records now wants to feed the needy of Detroit.

The store, along with its Nashville counterpart, has started a drive to collect 1,000 turkeys and other holiday foods for the Detroit Rescue Mission, 16o Stimpson St. Donors can take their items -- a turkey or three other items (cranberry sauce, vegetables, bread, etc.) to the Mission. They'll receive a voucher for a free 7-inch vinyl single or 10 percent off other purchases.

Donors will also be entered in a raffle for a prize pack featuring limited edition copies of Jack White's "Acoustic Recording 1998-2016," the book "Total Chaos: The Story of the Stooges/As Told By Iggy Pop" and a tri-color 7-inch single. The Prize Pack winner will be selected at random on November 28.

Financial donations for the Nashville Mission are also being accepted via a dedicated link at the ThirdManRecords.com web site.

Third Man will be announcing special activities for Black Friday and the holiday weekend soon.
