Rappers Eminem and Drake quashed all rumors about a beef between the two of them when the former made a surprise guest appearance at Drake's concert Tuesday night, Aug. 16, at Detroit's Joe Louis Arena.
The Oakland County-based Eminem emerged through a trap door on the stage to recreate his guest verse on Drake's 2009 hit "Forever," with Drake declaring, "Detroit, make some noise for the greatest rapper to ever get on the (expletive) mic who goes by the name of Eminem." Drake also bowed in homage to Eminem, who returned the gesture. "Legendary (expletive) tonight!" Drake said later.
The two rappers were rumored to be at odds with each other, with some reports saying Eminem was even planning to release a song dissing Drake. The rumor was credited to a radio personality and not based in fact.
Eminem's last public performance was also at Joe Louis Arena, last Nov. 6 taking part in "Detroit Vs. Everybody" during Big Sean's concert. Tuesday's show was the second metro area stop for Drake's Summer Sixteen Tour; He also played July 28 at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
