Jack White's Third Man Records store in Detroit's Cass Corridor is planning a busy Record Store Day on April 16.

The festivities start at 10 a.m. with free hot dogs and soft drinks, as well as performances by bands and DJs throughout the day. Jenny Junior and Jackie Rainsticks play at 1:30 p.m., with Detroit rockers Casual Sweetheart following at 2:30, Tennessee's Birdcloud at 3:30 and New Jersey's Liquor Store at 4:30. DJ's Jordan Bronk, Tommy Spaghetti & Coconut and others will take turns spinning before, between and after the acts.

The store is located at 441 W. Canfield St.

Third Man Records is planning some special releases for Record Store Day as well -- notably the first-ever official issue of the White Stripes' two Peel Sessions performances during 2001 on legendary DJ John Peel's BBC Shows. The two-disc vinyl set comes on red and white discs, with a standard black vinyl pressing due out later this year.

White will also be releasing a green vinyl 7-inch single of his performances of Stevie Wonder's "You Are The Sunshine of My Life" and "It's Not Easy Being Green" from his recent appearance on "The Muppets," and B-52's singer Kate Pierson joins the party with a 7-inch black vinyl single featuring "Venus" and "Radio in Bed." Other releases and Records Store Day events are expected to be announced soon.
