DETROIT -- Ohio's Walk The Moon may have told the world to "Shut Up and Dance" with its big hit.

But on Tuesday night, Jan. 12, at the Fillmore Detroit -- during Cars.com's annual Best Of Awards -- the quartet's message was simply "Let's Dance."

The group paid tribute to the late David Bowie, who died Sunday, Jan. 10, from cancer at the age of 69, by covering that 1983 chart-topper. The group members also sported lightning bolts painted onto their faces ala Bowie's early 70s "Aladdin Sane" image while drawing most of the rest of its 35-minute set from its 2014 album "Taking Is Hard."

Headliners Fall Out Boy eschewed the Bowie tribute, however, but still played a robust and energetic 75 minutes that was longer and more comprehensive than the quartet's performance at the 98.7 Amp Kringle Jingle during December. The group delivered a full array of favorites -- from the opening "Sugar, We're Goin' Down" through "This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race," "Immortals" from the film "Big Hero 6," "Dance, Dance," "Uma Thurman," "Thanks fr th Mmrs," "Centuries" and "My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)."

But Fall Out Boy also took the opportunity to dig a little deeper into its catalog, and bassist Pete Wentz even asked the crowd to "bear with us" before "Fourth of July," which he acknowledged the group hadn't played in awhile.

The music -- and free food and drinks -- were only part of the lure on Tuesday, however. Cars.com presented awards to six 2016 vehicles, giving The Volvo XC90 the Best of 2016 prize. Also honored were: Nissan Triton XD, Best Pickup Truck; Nissan Rogue, Best Family Vehicle; Mercedes Benz CLS Class, Luxury Car of the Year; Toyota Prius, Eco Friendly Car of the Year; and the BMW M235i, Play Car of the Year.
