Rolling Stones sidemen to play at The Max

Some members of the Rolling Stones touring band are stepping out on their own before the legendary group's concert on Wednesday, July 8, at Detroit's Comerica Park.

Band 2 -- which features former University of Michigan student Tim Ries on saxophone and piano, Daryl Jones on bass and Bernard Fowler on vocals, will perform at jazz arrangements of Stones songs at 10 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, at the Music Box in the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center, 3711 Woodward Ave., Detroit. Tickets for the show are $20 general admission, $49 VIP. Call 313-576-5111 or visit www.dso.org.
