News:
Eminem being courted for new TV crime series
Eminem may be moving from movies to TV with his next round of music.
Britain's New Musical Express reports that the Oakland County-based rapper, who resides in Oakland County and maintains a studio in Ferndale, is reportedly in talks to write music for "Motor City," a new crime series that's currently filming a pilot to be shopped to potential networks. Eminem (real name Marshall Mathers III) is being courted to be an executive producer and music supervisor, similar to the role Timbaland plays for "Empire."
"Motor City" was created by Joe Carnahan and is based on his 2002 film "Narc," which starred Ray Liotta and Jason Patric as police detectives in Detroit.
Eminem's latest song, "Phenomenal," appears in the forthcoming Jake Gyllenhaal film "Southpaw," which opens next month. The soundtrack is being released on the rapper's Shady Records label.
