Dead In 5

Formed: December 2012 in Westland

Sound: "Tequila- and whiskey-fueled outlaw rock."

Members: Robert Libres -- vocals; Dana "Deadly" Forrester -- bass;, Peder "The Terminator" Seglund and Brent "X19" Hall -- guitar; James Trunko - drums

Influences: Anthrax, Tool, Pantera, Periphery, Led Zeppelin, Clutch, the Stooges, Hellyeah

Day Jobs: Libres is a union iron worker currently building the Detroit Zoo's new Penguin House. Forrester owns the Lucky Monkey Tattoo parlor in Ann Arbor. Seglund owns International Genetics Labs in Troy. Hall cooks for a sorority at the University of Michigan, and Trunko is an IT tech at the Publicis Groupe in Troy.

Been around: Seglund, Forrester and Hall were previously in the band 60 Second Crush, while Libres was part of Mansfield Park. Dead In 5 played its first show during January of 2013 at the M/C clubhouse in Detroit.

What's in a name?: Forrester says the Dead In 5 was inspired by 60 Second Crush's final song placement, in a movie called "Dead In 5 Heartbeats" about Hell's Angels co-founder Sonny Barger. "Sonny produced and made this movie himself. He used our song 'Take it Away"'in the soundtrack. When we formed the new band we embraced a 'now or nothing' mentality -- live, rock, tour like you'll be dead in five years. So between the movie and our philosophy we felt Dead in 5 really fit!

Favorite Gig: "Last summer we rocked two nights at the notorious Hogrock biker festival in Cave in Rock, Ill.," Forrester recalls. Imagine thousands of naked bikers and debauchery - it was everything a rock and roll gig should be!

Hear `Em: Dead In 5 has released three CDs -- a self-titled debut EP in 2013, the full-length "Wreck Your World," also in 2013 and a new EP, "Schizophrenic Razor Project," coming March 24.
