Nearly five dozen performers will brave the chill next month to be part of the 2015 Merdian Winter Blast, running Feb. 6-8 in and around downtown Detroit's Campus Martius Park.
The 11th edition of the festival will feature three stages, hosting more than 75 music and family shows ranging from popular metro area rock acts such as the Ruiners, Amp Fiddler, the Reefermen and, appropriately, Bulletproof Snow to R&B favorites like Thornetta Davis, Hotsauce and Shotgun Soul to Americana troupes including the Orbitsuns and Ryan Dillaha & the Miracle Men. blues from the Bobby Murray Band and the Blue Cat Band and the Celtic flavors of Stone Clover and Bill Grogan's Goat and many others.
The Quicken Loans Kid Stage, meanwhile, will present three days of performances by the likes of Kevin Devine, Rosco, juggler Tim Salisbury, the Michigan Science Center's Frostology and many others.

Winter Blast will be open from 11-11 on Feb. 6 and 7 and 11-9 p.m. on Feb. 8 featuring a snow slide, a Bedrock Zip Line Adventure, ice skating exhibitions, ice sculptures, snowshoeing, a food court and more. Admission is $2, three canned food goods or a children's book which will be donated to area agencies.
