Funeral services for Alberta Adams, the singer known for decades as Detroit's Queen of the Blues, have been set for Saturday, Jan. 3, at Bethel Baptist Church East, 5715 Holcomb St. in Detroit.
The service will take place at 11 a.m., with a family visitation hour beginning at 10 a.m. Visitation will also take place from 9-6 on Thursday and Friday, Jan. 1-2 , and 6-9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, at Swanson's Funeral Home, 806 E. Grand Blvd. next to the Motown Historical Museum in Detroit.
A memorial tribute, with performances, will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday at Bert's Marketplace, 2727 Russell St., Detroit.
Adams died on Christmas day at the age of 97 following a long period of failing health.
