That SHADYXV T-shirt Eminem sported during his weekend shows at Comerica Park apparently had some meaning.
The Oakland County-based rapper will release his ninth album, "Shady XV," on Black Friday, Nov. 28, according to a trailer for the new Denzel Washington film "The Equalizer" that's slated to air during Sunday night's (Aug. 24) MTV Video Music Awards. An end credit announces that the film features the new Eminem song "Guts Over Fear," featuring Sia, and tips the album title and release date.
"Guts Over Fear," which can be heard in the film's trailer, will be available via iTunes on Sunday night. Eminem posted a notification about the album on his web site on Sunday, though it disappeared shortly thereafter; he preceded it with the tweet "Blink and you'll miss it -- #VMAs #SHADYXV." Eminem is up for seven VMAs.
"Shady XV" -- whose title makes reference to the 15 years since his major label debut "The Slim Shady LP" -- follows "The Marshall Mathers LP 2," which was released last November and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, selling nearly four million copies worldwide. No other details about the new album have been disclosed yet.
