Oakland County-based rapper Eminem and his Monster Tour partner Rihanna have begun preparing for their three-city, six-date trek according to some recent social media postings. On Tuesday night Rihanna tweeted a photo of herself and Eminem surrounded by musical equipment in what appears to be a hotel ballroom, with the simple message "Marshall!" (Enimem's real name is Marshall Mathers III) and hashtag references to #MONSTERtourRiherasals and #Detroit. Eminem's manager Paul Rosenberg, meanwhile, tweeted a note that "I'm not going to tell you how crazy these Monster shows are going to be. I'd never do that."
The tour begins Aug. 7-8 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., before moving to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. on Aug. 16-17 and then playing sold-out shows Aug. 22-23 at Detroit's Comerica Park. Eminem and Rihanna are expected to recreate some of their hit collaborations together, including "Love the Way You Lie," "Numb" and "The Monster."
Eminem is also one of the headliners at this year's Lollapalooza festival, performing Friday, Aug. 1, in Chicago's Grant Park. He'll also be appearing at the Squamish Music Festival on Aug. 10 in British Columbia and at the Austin City Limits Music Festival Oct. 4 and 11 in Texas.
