The walking dead are coming together this weekend to take a bit out of one of the world's deadliest killers.

Zombie Apocalypse II: "Cancer Fears the D" will benefit the American Cancer Society via the Walking Hope, a Chicago-based charity run by cancer survivors, caregivers and fans of "The Walking Dead" TV series. The event takes place Saturday, June 28, at the Tangent Galler and Hastings Street Ballroom, 715 E. Milwaukee in Detroit. HafLife, Panic or Pain and DJ Greenbo will perform along with burlesque artists, belly dancers and Anastasia Gold, the "Zombie Queen." Artists and artisans will be on hand, with sales also benefiting the charity, and a silent auction includes signed memorabilia by "Walking Dead" actors, including a Walking Hope hoodie signed by 25 cast members.

A $10 donation is suggested at the door, and zombie attire is encouraged. Call 313-873-2955 or visit the Detroit Zombie Apocalypse II Facebook event page.
