A big weekend on tap for local artist shows

Like any weekend there's a number of notable shows around town by Detroit area artists. There's a few particuarly notable ones this weekend, however, so if you want to root for the home team, you might want to check out...

* The rowdy Horse Cave Trio will crank out its rockabilly-blues blend on Friday, June 6, at Callahan's Music Hall, 2105 South Blvd., Auburn Hills. The Hamiltons will also perform. Tickets are is $10. Call (248) 858-9508 or visit www.atcallahans.com.

* Four Detroit tribute bands hunker down at the Magic Bag in Ferndale this weekend. Tales of Cream will throw back to the original 60s rock "supergroup" on Friday, while the Smiths United, Going Underground (the Jam) and Big Deal (the Breeders) will offer a night of punk/alternative rock on Saturday. * With views pouring in for the video of his new song "Sprinklers," rapper and Detroit Dog Rescue founder Hush will hit the stage on Saturday, June 7, at the Magic Stick, 4120 Woodward Ave., Detroit. * Rochester singer-songwriter Olivia Millerschin, winner of this year's John Lennon Love, Love, Love Songwriting Contest and a hit at the Detroit Music Awards in April will celebrate the release of her new CD, "Over the Weather," at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Callahan's Music Hall, 2105 South Blvd., Auburn Hills.
