News:
Laneway Festival a no-go for Detroit this year
There will be no St. Jerome's Laneway Festival for the Detroit area this year.
Organizers of the Australasian music festival -- which made its U.S. debut last Sept. 14 at the Meadow Brook Music Festival -- have announced that this year's edition has been "postponed...due to timing." A statement on the festival web site calls the movie "a difficult decision, but, unfortuantely, artists' scheduling was our biggest obstacle and we didn't want to compromise the quality of the festival we all expect."
It concludes that, "We hope to return to Detroit again in 2015."
The 2013 Laneway show featured 24 bands playing on five stages throughout the day. Laneway organizers said at the time they hoped to expand the event to other North American cities.
