The Freedom Hill Amphitheatre's 2014 season will be coming out in a Motown way.
Motown queen Diana Ross will open the Sterling Heights venue's season on June 13, playing her second consecutive summer show in metro Detroit. Ross performed last August) at the Motor City Casino Hotel's Soundboard, playing a selection of her 70 hit singles for Motown -- with both the Supremes and a solo artist -- and for other labels.
Tickets, starting at $39.50 with a limited number of $10 lawn spots, go on sale Friday, April 25 via www.freedomhill.net or by phone at 888-929-7849. A pre-sale begins on Wednesday, April 23, for those who "like" Freedom Hill's Facebook page (www.facebook.com/freedomhillmi) or register for a weekly newsletter at the web site.
Freedom Hill has announced 17 shows so far. The venue's operators expect a final schedule of "approximately 30 concerts, events and appearances" from June through September.
