A Monster is coming to Comerica Park in August. And it's not wielding a bat.
Eminem's The Monster Tour with co-headliner Rihanna will hit the home of the Detroit Tigers on Aug. 22 as part of a three-city tour that begins Aug. 7 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., also stops Aug. 16 at Metlife Stadium in New York. Multiple nights are expected in both cities, but these are the only dates announced so far.
It will be Eminem's third stop at Comerica Park; the Detroit rapper (real name Marshall Mathers III), who's sold more than 80 million albums worldwide, played there Aug. 12-13, 2005 during the Anger Management Tour and again Sept. 2-3, 2010 during his two-city Home And Home Tour with Jay Z. Eminem has had two No. 1 hit collaborations with Rihanna, "Love the Way You Lie" in 2010 and last year's "The Monster" from his latest album, "The Marshall Mathers LP 2." He's also featured on Rihanna's song "Numb."
Eminem was recently announced as one of the headliners for the annual Lollapalooza festival during early August in Chicago.
