News:
Detroit rapper Hush showing off new band, music at Cliff Bell's
Veteran Detroit rapper Hush's most recent headlines have largely been for the good works done by his Detroit Dog Rescue organization. Now he's ready to give his music a long leash again.
Hush (nee Dan Carlisle) will play a special showcase on Monday (Jan. 27) at Cliff Bell's in Detroit to showcase material from his upcoming album, "Danny Boy: Live of a Kid in the D," which he plans to release by late spring. The set -- which he says boasts a more "refreshed" and "Detroit-soulful" sound -- includes guest appearances by Dwele, Slum Village's T3, Melanie Rutherford, Ro Spit, Monica Blair, Astray and Cadillac Dale. Hush will also use Monday's show to unveil his latest band, a quintet that includes musicians who have played with Ne-Yo, Charlie Wilson, K'Jon, Dr. Dre and Sean Kingston.
Free tickets to the showcase are available by e.mail at 313hush@gmail.com. Cliff Bell's is located 2030 Park Ave. Call 313-961-2543 or visit www.cliffbells.com. More about Hush and his music can be found at www.reverbnation.com/Hush313.
