DETROIT -- Chevrolet took home the most trophies, but music fans were, as usual, the big winners at Cars.com's annual Best of 2014 party for the North American International Auto Show.

The invite-only bash, held Tuesday, Jan. 14, at the Fillmore Detroit, has quickly turned into the hottest auto show affair outside of Cobo Center, with previous headliners such as Maroon5, fun., Barenaked Ladies and Counting Crows and a reliable spread of gourmet food each year. On Tuesday Fitz & the Tantrums got the crowd dancing with a charged 11-song set that included hits such as "Out of My League," "Moneygrabber" and the new single "The Walker," as well as the Los Angeles sextet's cover of Eurythmics' "Sweet Dreams Are Made of This."

Modern rockers Weezer, meanwhile, closed the night and managed to hold most of the crowd with nearly 90 minutes of crafted and occasionally punky power pop, leaning on the hit side of its nine-album catalog with favorites such as "Undone -- The Sweater Song," "Buddy Holly," "Say It Ain't So," "Perfect Situation," "Pork and Beans" and the stomping "Beverly Hills." Jets of smoke shot from the stage during "Hash Pipe" early in the set, while drummer Patrick Wilson came down front to mash together Weezer's own "Photograph" and a bit of Blur's "Song 2."

On the car front, Chevy's latest Impala won the overall Best of 2014 prize, while the Silverado 1500 was named Pickup Truck of the Year. Other winners included: Hyundai's Santa Fe Sport, Family Car of the Year; BMW's 328i, Luxury Car of the Year; Nissan's Leaf, Eco Friendly Car of the Year and Porsche's Boxster, Play Car of the Year. The Ford Mustang took the Shopper's Choice award.
