Mike Posner plans to finish 2013 on "Top Of The World."
The Southfield-raised pop singer, a graduate of Birmingham Groves High School, has debuted his new single, "Top of the World" -- which features Detroit rapper and good friend Big Sean --this week via www.RyanSeacrest.com. He'll tease the song's video on the site on Wednesday, Dec. 18, with a premiere of the full video -- which was shot around the Detroit metro area during September, including a session with students at Groves -- on Thursday, Dec. 19.
"It was just a special event for us to be able to shoot it in our home town," Posner says of the video. "We had a blast doing it. The song is all about really having high goals and having confidence that you're gonna get 'em. Like I told the (Groves) students, I'm very proud of what I've accomplished, but I still feel driven to accomplish more."
"Top Of The World" is slated to appear on Posner's sophomore album, "Pages," in 2014. His 2010 debut, "31 Minutes to Takeoff," hit No. 8 on the Billboard 200, and during the interim Posner has written songs for Justin Bieber, Cher Lloyd, Labrinth and others.
