Homegrown Happenings: Chickfest, Down the Line, the Pantones

A quintet of Detroit area singer-songwriters will play this weekend to raise money for the fi ght against breast cancer. Chickfest 2007 features Mary Abraham, Silent Violet, Michele Del Greco, Lori Withrow and Annie Palmer, who will perform starting at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Memphis Smoke, 100 S. Main St., Royal Oak. No admission will be charged at the door, but donations will be collected for the Karmanos Cancer Institute’s Susan G. Komen Detroit Race for the Cure. Call (248) 543-4300.



Local rockers Down the Line celebrate the release of a new CD, “For All You Break,” tonight at the Magic Bag, 22920 Woodward Ave., Ferndale. Alex Winson and Band B also are on the bill. Doors open at 8 p.m. Admission is $7. Call (248) 544-3030 or visit www. themagicbag.com.



Americana-styled rockers the Pantones hit the road from Lansing this week to play tonight at the Corktown Tavern, 1716 Michigan Ave., Detroit.
