Veteran Detroit rocker Bootsey X may be ailing but he's not out -- and he will, in fact, be celebrating the release of a new album, "Women's Love Rites," on Saturday, June 29, at the Loving Touch in Ferndale.
Bootsey (ne Bob Mulrooney) isn't feeling up to playing himself, but Outrageous Cheery and Troy Gregory will perform, while Danny "Dollrod" Kroha will DJ. The Loving Touch is located at 22634 Woodward Ave. Doors open at 9 p.m. Cover is $5. Call 248-546-3696 or visit www.lovingtouchferndale.com.
Bootsey's album features contributions by fellow Detroit rock luminaries such as Matt Smith (Outrageous Cherry, the Volbeats, etc.), Jim Diamond (Doop & the Inside Outlaws), the Trash Brats' Ricky Rat, Eminem collaborator Steve King and members of the Twistin' Tarantulas and Bootsey's own Lovemasters.
