ZZ Top is opening all of Rock's shows at DTE.
The eighth show of the homestand puts Rock in the rarefied territory of his pal Bob Seger, who played eight non-consecutive dates at the amphitheater, then known as PIne Knob, during August and September of 1978. The difference is that other artists appeared during the off-nights of Seger's stand, wile Rock, so far, has DTE to himself between Aug. 9-20.
The shows will be Rock's first performances in the Detroit metro area since his May 12, 2012 benefit for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra at the Fox Theatre, and his first concerts at DTE since August of 2010.
