Veteran Detroit singer-songwriter Audra Kubat is not turning 40 quietly.
Kubat will celebrate on Friday, June 7, with a guest-filled show that will feature appearances by pals such as Carolyn Striho, Don "Doop" Duprie, the Sights' Eddie Baranaek, Danny "Dollrod" Kroha, the Howling Diablos' Martin "Tino" Gross, Billy Brandt, Loretta Lucas and others, as well as separate sets by Emily Rose and Matt Dmits. The show will also launch Kubat's fundraising campaign -- via Indiegogo.com -- for her sixth album, which she hopes to put out this fall.
Kubat will be playing some of the new songs at Friday's show, which takes place at the Hastings Street Ballroom and Tangent Gallery, 715 E. Milwaukee St., Detroit. Doors open at 8 p.m. A $10 suggested donation includes a free download of the songs "September."
